Join Chaz Antione as they give folks an opportunity to contribute to the developing of critical Black joy texts via creating media, materials, and storytelling that centers rich Black aesthetics and culture. Chaz will focus on the (re)telling’s of Black joy narratives that include deviance, legacies of trickster/trickery, and subversive performance, all rooted in mundane Black experiences. Chaz will create an exhibition of 8 foot long durags in the space with a focus on experimental displays, lighting, and visuals. They will also present their film 'Everyday Black Matter' as a backdrop/silent visual/projected piece to the display.
