Chaz Antoine and Wes Taylor will lead an open panel discussion about the collective takeaways from the pop culture film, American Fiction/book Erasure by P. Everett. The discussion will explore the connections this film has to artists and their work, as a theoretical throughline into unpacking the subversive nature and role of deviant performance in Black artistry (con-artistry) and the mechanism with which artists navigate institutional spaces when our voices are not heard.
